Andrew Elsaid grew up in Auburn MA, where he was a great student, athlete, and beloved member of the community. A talented soccer player, he played competitively for many years at Auburn High School and later in college at Bentley University. Andrew was an avid Manchester United soccer fan, but also had a host of other interests including traveling, being outdoors, and acting as an extra in popular shows like Succession. After graduating from Bentley in 2016, Andrew worked in investment management, focusing on private equity investing for pension retirement funds.
In 2018, Andrew was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue sarcoma called myoepithelial carcinoma. Over the course of the next five years, Andrew experienced first hand the gap in effective treatments and research funding for rare cancers, especially sarcoma. While undergoing many rounds of rigorous treatment for his own diagnosis, Andrew was always thinking of ways to help others. He founded Andrew Sarcoma's Foundation with the hope to raise awareness for Sarcoma Cancer, and fund enough research long term to cure all 50 Sarcoma sub-types.
Andrew lost his life to Sarcoma in January of 2023. To the very end he was passionate about helping other cancer patients through advocacy and research, and encouraged his close family and friends to carry on the mission of ASF.
